SIXTEEN DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST GENDER VIOLENCE
November 25 to December 10, 2009

This annual international campaign encourages participants to reflect on the advances and challenges of work to end violence against women worldwide. The campaign begins on November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and concludes on December 10, International Human Rights Day. Other internationally recognized days include: December 1, World AIDS Day; December 3, International Day of Disabled Persons; and December 6

TANGLED UP IN EQUITY?
St. George: November 5, 9am-11:30pm
UTM: November 26, 9am-11:30pm

This session provides a forum for professional managers to discuss how we can put into everyday practice the Statement on Equity, Diversity, and Excellence. How we can demystify equity in our workplaces? Learn how to close the gap between policy and practice. Explore what helps the University be 'an equitable and inclusive community, rich with diversity, protecting the human rights of all persons' and: discuss how to create harmony on the team affected by equity issues; create a deeper understanding from lessons learned from common mistakes; and learn more about creating a culture of inclusivity.

What does Feminism mean today, to you? Discuss ideas, ask questions and hear from other women students.

This is a series of informal roundtable sessions offering women students a chance to talk about issues and topics that matter now. Our first Cafe Conversation happened last week It was a great opportunity for students to get together. Look for our next sessions!

Women faculty at all stages of their academic careers will reflect on their experiences. Panels will be devided into those from humanities,social scineces, life and physical sciences.
